Depending on when you joined the Police Officers Pension Scheme, you will be a member of either the 1987, 2006 or 2015 Schemes. Kent County Council administers the Kent Police Officer Schemes on behalf of The Police and Crime Commissioner for Kent.
The State pension is paid in addition to your Police pension. The Government made changes to the State pension from April 2016. Find more information about the April 2016 reform at GOV.UK.
The Pension Section is currently experiencing a high volume of calls and requests for information due to a recent email release from NARPO (National Association of Retired Pension Officers) regarding officer’s elections for:
- 1972 Regulations uprating widow’s pensions, and
- 1990 Regulations uprating widower’s pensions.
We are unable to provide details about elections over the phone due to data protection. If you think this affects you please view further information about Elections under the 1972 and 1990 regulations.
