If you joined the police pension scheme from 1 April 2015 you became a member of the Police Pension Scheme 2015 (PPS 2015).
This section of the website is for members who have left the PPS 2015 and have not transferred out their benefits or received a refund of contributions. When you left we would have written to you to let you know that you have a deferred pension in the PPS 2015.

You can exchange some of your annual pension to provide a lump sum in the PPS 2015.

How your deferred benefits keep their value
Your deferred benefits are held in the Police Pension Scheme where they increase in value in line with the cost of living, until they become payable.

Ill health
Your deferred pension may be paid early without reduction at any age on ill heath. You must be permanently disabled for regular employment.

If you have left with a deferred pension and re-engaged as a member of a police force, your gap in service will impact how your pension is treated.
