Local Government Pension Scheme


Depending on when you joined the Firefighters Pension Scheme, you will be a member of the 1992, 2006 or 2015 Schemes. Kent County Council administers the Kent Firefighter Pension Schemes on behalf of Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

The State pension is paid in addition to your Firefighters pension. The Government made changes to the State pension from April 2016. Find more information about the April 2016 reform at GOV.UK.

Change in the administration of the Firefighter Pension Scheme

The administration of the Firefighter Pension Schemes is moving from Kent County Council to The Local Pensions Partnership (LPP) from 7 August 2017. LPP is a collaboration between Lancashire County Pension Fund and London Pensions Fund Authority. This Firefighter Pension Scheme area of this website will not be updated from 7 August 2017. We will redirect our Firefighters Pension Scheme area to the LPP website when the transfer of pension administration is finalised.
