Canterbury

The branch was set up in 2002 and is administered by a committee led by the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer along with 8 committee members.

Members are asked to pay £2 per meeting. A raffle is held each month and there are also second hand books, puzzles, CDs and DVDs on sale. Seasonal fruit and vegetables, and plants are sometimes available. This helps cover the meeting costs.

The general format of the meeting is to get the business out of the way first; the officers of the committee make any reports as required and the notices are read. It is all very informal. We then hold the raffle and have tea and biscuits, afterwards settling down to hear our speaker. We have had an eclectic mix of speakers, who have been amusing, talented and serious but always interesting.
