Payslips

A payslip is sent to you when you first retire. Afterwards we send you a payslip if:

  • your tax code changes
  • you change your bank account
  • your net pay differs by £3.

We do not send payslips every month because the net payment of your pension rarely changes. View an example payslip (PDF, 233.2 KB).

You usually receive a payslip once or twice a year, in April and May. The pension increase is paid in April. Find out about pension increase. Tax codes usually change at this time of year. Find out about tax and your pension

Payment dates

Your pension is paid into your bank or building society account on the last banking day of each month:

  • 31 December 2021
  • 31 January 2022
  • 28 February 2022
  • 31 March 2022

Changing your bank or building society details

We only accept changes to your bank or building society details in writing. We must verify your signature to authorise the change. Download and complete the change of bank or building society details form (PDF, 224.4 KB).

You can post the form or email a scanned copy or photo to pensions.payroll@cantium.solutions

The account for payment must be either:

  • an individual account in your name, or
  • a joint account on which you are named.

We must receive changes by the 10th of the month for the change to happen for that pay period. Otherwise the change happens from the month following receipt.

P60 information

A P60 form shows your taxable pay and tax for the financial year. It is combined with your April payslip. We post it to you at the end of April each year. Find out more about P60s

Living abroad

If you move abroad, you can have your pension paid into a bank account in that country. Find out about payment to an overseas account

Brexit and pension payments

We continue to pay your pension. If you live abroad and have your pension paid into a UK bank account, Brexit may impact this. You should check with your bank.

You may need to change to a different UK bank or payment to an overseas account. Find out what to do if you have been told your UK bank account is closing

Payments to overseas accounts should be unaffected.

Exchanging small pension for a one-off lump sum

If you have a small pension, you may be able to exchange it for a one-off lump sum payment. You must meet certain requirements. Find out the requirements and how to apply to take a small pension as a cash lump sum
