Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)

Information about the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for individuals who:

  • are thinking of joining the Scheme;
  • are a current member paying into the LGPS;
  • have stopped paying in but have deferred benefits with us, or
  • are in receipt of a pension from us.

The State pension is paid in addition to your LGPS pension. The Government made changes to the State pension from April 2016. Find more information about the April 2016 reform in Q & As about the New State Pension and National Insurance changes (PDF, 82.7 KB).

If you need to report the death of a member of the LGPS please complete the Notification of a deceased scheme member form.

  • Joining the LGPS and Automatic Enrolment
